Join us for a free public concert featuring eight outstanding student musicians from across Long Island. The students will play a repertoire inspired by John and Alice Coltrane, and perform alongside our professional Coltrane Home Ensemble.
What to Expect
An afternoon student performance, which will be free and open to the public. Eight exceptional student musicians from across Long Island will perform a John and Alice Coltrane-inspired repertoire, selected through an open audition process facilitated in partnership with the Suffolk County Music Educators Association and the Nassau Music Educators Association.
Why Attend
The concert will elevate youth voices, foster mentorship between emerging and professional artists, and bring together community members in a shared experience of creative excellence. In addition to inspiring young performers, the concert invites a broader audience to witness excellence, diversity, and collaboration in action. For students who may not play an instrument, the event models the power of artistic expression and the importance of cultural legacy. By spotlighting youth achievement and making space for reflection, conversation, and curiosity, we aim to reach a wide range of learners—not just those on stage.
