when I saw the John Coltrane house on the list of most endangered historic places, I thought “Of course they’ll save it. Coltrane is a jazz giant, and this is where he wrote Love Supreme!, and the cost to restore it would be incredibly small compared with other projects.”. But then I read the moronic comments on the National Trust for Historic Preservation website, and I realized “Nope. They’ll let it be demolished.” And hundreds of years from now people will say “What idiots!” Sad.
