As of 2005, however, the Dix Hills, NY home had been abandoned for several years and was slated for demolition. Miraculously, thanks to an outpouring of support from music lovers, musicians, and friends from around the world, the home has been rescued and made an historic landmark. The home, considered by many to be an essential part of our music culture and history, is to be rebuilt as a museum and cultural center. In Alice Coltrane’s own words, the home is destined to “inspire people of all ages and background.”
